Renault UK has announced the launch of iCare, an innovative pro-actively managed service, maintenance and repair system specifically designed for modern commercial car users. It uses telematics to provide hands-free communication with the driver and "pay-as-you-earn" pricing.

The car is equipped with a four-way communication buttons, with one knob providing direct access to Renault Assistance whenever the driver needs help. The other three knobs are assigned to iCare for the emergency services, administrative and operational support and one of the driver's choosing, usually his/her fleet manager.

"We are proud to launch this pay-as-you-earn maintenance system for Renault van drivers and fleets", said Darren Payne, director of fleet and commercial vehicle operations of Renault UK.

"Renault iCare allows you to enjoy a comprehensive, pro-actively managed maintenance package with the advantage that you only have to pay for the mileage that is actually covered, giving van operators a helping hand with spreading running costs, budgeting and giving them peace of mind", added Payne.

Based on the car mileage or time whenever applicable, the iCare will manage the repairs needed for any reported defects, whether during or between a routine servicing; instantly and pro-actively coordinate the car's MOT test and routine servicing through Renault dealership, allowing operators to focus on their business; and keep electronic copies of all repair, maintenance and services preformed, plus MOT credentials to ensure that the car is compliant with legislation. For cars greater than 3.5T GVW, the iCare package also includes document management and compliance with regard to Operator Licence obligations.

The iCare is only offered on the new Renault commercial vehicle lineup - Trafic, New Master and Kangoo Van, or on cars that are under 12 months old or have covered less than 12,000 miles.
