Renault S.A has completed the renewal of the iconic Megane family with the introduction of the new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet. The Megane range now has six body types, the consecutive launches of which have enabled the French carmaker to revive its range in a short period of just a year and a half in what is the biggest volume segment in Europe.
At the end of 2009, the Megane range held the third spot in its segment across Europe, and enjoyed the top place in its native soil, France. With total sales of more than 170,000 units since the debut of the first-generation model, Megane Coupé-Cabriolet accounts for 4% of the Megane range mix. In 2009 it continued to comprise one of ten sales in the compact cabriolet segment in Western Europe.
Based on the striking features of its successful predecessors, the New Megane Coupé-Cabriolet gets head-turning looks and a real sense of freedom owing to the forward position of its windscreen and its panoramic glass roof. The car's standard fixed glass wind deflector lessens turbulence to optimise the bliss of al fresco motoring.
The car was built at Renault's plant in Douai, northern France, alongside the compact MPV Scenic and the seven-seater Grand Scenic. No doubt, the car benefits from the noteworthy production expertise achieved by this facility since the first Megane Cabriolet was launched in 1997.
The coupé is an open invitation to enjoy new way to go motoring, and an elegant representation of the company's new brand signature- 'Drive the Change'.
The new Megane Coupé-Cabriolet will hit the UK showrooms in July.
