Run-up to Christmas good time to buy a used car
14 December 2009
Now is an ideal time for purchasing a second-hand car, it has been claimed.
Want a used car? Now is the best time, according to one motoring journalist.Miles Brignall wrote in the Guardian that falling prices mean this is an optimum chance to find a good deal for second-hand motors.
Chief car editor for Glass's Guide Jeff Paterson told the paper that used car prices generally go up a little in January.
He also noted that buyers should not be put off used cars that have covered a lot of ground, explaining that they can give very good value for money as long as they have been serviced properly.
Mr Glass suggested used Vauxhall Vectras as good bargains for second-hand cars.
Vauxhall offers a range of accessories that can help protect a van or car in the wintry weather.
It recommended that people carrying Christmas trees get a cargo liner, while headlight protectors exist to shield the lights from objects that might get thrown up from the road.
