Scrappage scheme participants may be tempted by Kia ceed
29 September 2009
Kia has announced the new cee'd will be available to scrappage scheme participants from £7,995.
The new Kia cee'd will be available to participants in the scrappage scheme for less than £8,000, the manufacturer has announced. It made the comment after the government revealed it was providing extra funding for the cash for bangers initiative.
Due to arrive in UK showrooms next month, the revised cee'd will cost from £7,995 to people eligible for the financial incentive.
Kia said it is delighted the programme will continue for longer.
"With VAT expected to rise from the current rate of 15 per cent, an extension to the scrappage scheme will help to soften the blow to automotive business in the UK," it stated.
The new cee'd is available with Intelligent Stop and Go technology and also comes with a seven-year warranty.
However, a used Kia model may turn out to be a more cost-effective option for people who do not qualify to take part in the scrappage scheme.
