At the Geneva motor show,Seat SEAT unveiled the new IBE concept car that utilises the futures zero-emissions drive in a dynamic and sporty concept for city driving. Its clean and sporty style provides a subtle hint of the ongoing development of SEAT designs next generation.

SEAT S.A. President James Muir said: With the IBE we are demonstrating that, for SEAT, electric mobility will always be combined with excellent design and outstanding driving fun.

The IBE is in the best SEAT tradition of always offering the boldest and most youthful cars in its class. On top of that, our first electric concept car represents the continuation of our strategy for the future, he said.

Along with the huge success of the highly efficient Ecomotive models, we are now working intensively on electric mobility; and that includes plug-in hybrid drive, as well as an all-electric vehicle, he added.

With a length of 3.78 metres, the SEAT IBE is shorter compared to a SEAT Ibiza. The cars unusual width of 1.80 metres and height of only 122 centimetres give it the classic sports car proportions.

The car features full LED headlights, trademark Arrow Design nose, sculpted flanks, broad shoulders, and flattened and elongated V-shaped bonnet. Its clusters of rear light also boast of LED light guide technology and present the arrow thematic.

The motor of the IBE is located under the exceedingly flat bonnet with the lithium-ion battery placed in the very short rear of the car. Its power unit has a maximum output of 75 kW (102 PS) and 200 Nm of torque. The car can run 0-50 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, 80 km/h in 6.3 seconds, and reaches 100 km/h after 9.4 seconds.
