Skoda focuses on sustainability
6 January 2010Drivers of old, used Skodas abroad have been informed how they can easily dispose of the vehicles in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Its partner company Callparts can take away second-hand Skodas in the Czech Republic if they are not suitable to be resold.
Skoda says that its cars are recyclable and that the scheme allows them to be reused as much as possible.
It explained also that all of its current automobiles are registered with the Vehicle Certification Agency in the UK, fulfilling the requirement that 80 per cent of a car's weight be made of recyclable materials.
Last month, Skoda revealed that 2,511 of its vehicles were sold in the UK in November.
Sales in the month saw a 45.3 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2008.
According to Skoda, the biggest seller was the Fabia supermini and the new Octavia came in second place in the list.
