Space galore in the Clio Sport Tourer
12 March 2009
The Renault Clio Sport Tourer offers greater amounts of loading space than traditional hatchback offerings.
Renault Clio fans looking for more in the way of interior space may want to book themselves a test drive in the model's new Sport Tourer offering.Writing for the Islington Gazette, Neil Greenfield states that the Clio is now no longer only available as a three or five-door hatchback, thanks to the creation of the Sport Tourer.
He argues that the new vehicle is pretty much an estate and offers far greater amounts of loading space for those going on a trip.
In the traditional hatchback, used car fans can generally benefit from 288 litres of space in the boot, but this rises to 439 litres in the Sport Tourer.
Also, once the seats are dropped there is a significant space increase, with the Sport Tourer offering 1,277 litres, compared to 1,028 in the hatchback.
Furthermore, the Sport Tourer provides a small storage compartment beneath the removable boot floor, which Mr Greenfield describes as a "thoughtful touch".
Channel Four highlighted in a review of the Sport Tourer that it offered "decent loadspace within a small supermini bodyshell".
