The British arm of Subaru has supplied a brand-new Subaru Forester 2.0 D XC to Yorkhill Children's Foundation, a Glasgow-based charity providing services and equipment for babies and sick children throughout Scotland. The foundation will use the all-wheel drive vehicle as a go-anywhere ambulance support.
The partnership was coordinated by Subaru dealer Alex F. Noble & Son and Colin McRae Vision, which was established after the helicopter accident that killed the first World Rally Champion of Britain. The new addition to the growing fleet of the foundation was collected from the Midlothian Subaru dealership.
"The team in Yorkhill Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and everyone at Yorkhill Children's Foundation are hugely grateful to both Subaru UK and the Colin McRae Vision for their support. This vehicle has made a significant difference to the life-saving work the hospital staff carry out, as they are now able to respond to more calls and provide even more critically ill children with the specialist treatment they need", said Shona Cardle, CEO of Yorkhill Children's Foundation.
"The Forester seems like the perfect choice for the Foundation, as it's widely regarded as one of the safest, most practical and reliable cars in its class. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system will doubtless come into its own when a rapid response is required and the weather conditions take a turn for the worse", said Kenyon Neads, MD of Subaru UK.
Apart from the car donation, the Colin McRae Vision has also donated £35,000 to help buy a specialist Paediatric Intensive Care ambulance.
