Suzuki UK has released additional images of the all-new, third generation Swift as it prepares to be launched in the UK this autumn. The images include profile, action, as well as view of the car's interior design.
Positioned as the latest world strategic model of Suzuki, the new Swift has received further developments in driving performance, impact safety, handling, design, improved fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions at 116g/km, which makes it among the cleanest petrol engine Superminis on the market.
The use of higher strength steel also makes the new model stiffer and lighter, and offers enhancement in underbody design. The new body structure has also helped improve impact safety for occupants and pedestrians alike. In addition, larger diameter wheels with lower profile tyres, variable gear ratio steering and increased track allow better handling than the outgoing Swift model.
The new Swift is 90mm longer than the older generation, 10 mm taller, with 50mm increase in the wheelbase.
It comes with two new powertrains - a new 1.2-litre petrol unit incorporating Dual Variable intake and exhaust valve timing (VVT), which generates 94PS at 6,000rpm. The torque is improved to 118Nm at 4,800rpm and combined fuel consumption cycle stands at just 56.5mpg. Meanwhile, a 1.3-litre diesel engine is also planned for the UK. This engine has an incredible combined fuel consumption of just 67.3mpg and emits 109g/km of CO2.
Complete UK pricing and specification details for the new Swift will be revealed later this summer.
