Suzuki GB has announced its full support to the British Superbike (BSB) and World Superbike (WSB) Suzuki teams by providing each rider with a brand new Grand Vitara five-door SZ4. BSB riders Tommy Hill and Michael Laverty and WSB riders Sylvain Guintoli and Leon Haslam all collected their cars from the Suzuki GB main office located in Milton Keynes, England.
Part of the Suzuki range for 21 years, the Grand Vitara has sold over 2.7 million examples worldwide with nearly 174,000 being sold in Britain. In September 2009, the range was been given minor interior and exterior styling adjustments, and also saw the debut of the final model in the SZ range - the five-door 1.9 DDi. The three-door SZ lineup was increased in July 2009 to include the 1.9 DDiS diesel and 1.6-litre petrol engines priced from £14,900.
Safety wise, the Grand Vitara SZ range is fitted with ESP(r)is as a standard feature. There are three specification levels in the Grand Vitara range: the SZ5, the SZ4 and the SZ3. The SZ5 model boats of 18-inch alloys, leather seats with front seat heating, electronically operated glass sunroof and High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps.
The International Geneva Motor Show, which was held earlier this year, unveiled some styling changes to the highly-successful five and three door Grand Vitara models with both models integrating an enhanced tailgate with no spare wheel. The fresh more stylish nature makes the car more fitting for City driving while not compromising the 4x4 capability and original lifestyle of the model.
