Suzuki to reveal cars of the future in Japan

12 October 2009

Suzuki has announced the cars it will be displaying at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

Motorists who swear by new and used Suzuki models may be impressed with the manufacturer's plans for the future.

The company has revealed it will be displaying its latest automotive developments at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

Attendees will be able to view the SX4 Fuel Cell Vehicle, which is currently being tested on public roads in Japan.

The model is fitted with a light and compact capacitor that is capable of recovering energy during breaking that can then be employed to minimise fuel cell loading during acceleration.

In addition, the manufacturer will also be exhibiting a plug-in hybrid version of its Swift.

The company explained this model is designed for people who tend to travel less than 20 km a day.

Meanwhile, motorists looking for a fuel-efficient second-hand car may want to consider a used Suzuki Alto.

The auto recently achieved consumption of 75.94 mpg at the MPG Marathon - an 18 per cent improvement on its official figure.
