Thousands attend car show

20 January 2010

Several thousand motor enthusiasts were delighted at a major international car festival.

Car lovers were thrilled this weekend as they attended an international motoring show in their thousands.

Approximately 90,000 people attended the Autosport International Show, which was held in Birmingham at the NEC.

One feature at the event was the Caterham Drive Experience, which allowed people to try out a ride in the sports cars.

Around 2,000 people got into a Caterham Seven with a professional driver to get an idea of the automobile's performance on an indoor drift course.

James Drake of Caterham Cars commented: "Even those who have been in the cockpit of a Seven many times still get as much of a blast out of the car."

Earlier this month, Caterham announced that it was using its Seven model as part of a partnering with Sunseeker International for the London International Boat Show.

The car was displayed with the yacht firm's Predator 108 Special Edition, demonstrating the water vessel's capacity for storage of a vehicle.
