Three new Kuga vehicles to be released by Ford

02 December 2008

Ford is to release three new vehicles in its Kuga range.

Greater power and torque are just some of the additions developed by Ford as it launches three new Kuga crossover vehicles.

A new front-wheel drive version has been created, which maintains the style and refinement of the existing Kuga 2.0-litre, but offers enhanced fuel economy and a CO2 output of 159/km.

Also, flagships vehicles in the Kuga range are to be given the 2.5-litre Duratec engine more commonly found in other models of the Ford brand such as the Mondeo and the Focus.

This five-cylinder petrol engine will allow used car drivers looking at buying a new Kuga to hit 62 miles per hour from standstill in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed available of 129 miles per hour.

Motorists looking for an automatic rather than manual gearbox may be pleased to know that a five-speed automatic transmission is alternatively available with the engine.

The Ford Kuga is a crossover SUV similar to the old Ford Maverick.

It has only been on the market since the start of this year.
