Toyota has offered the best customer service in the UK despite a difficult year for the automaker. Its effective handling of a continuous series of car recalls seems to have paid off when Toyota topped the list of ten of the biggest carmakers in the country for its customer service, based on a poll conducted by RoadTestReports.co.uk.
Voted for by visitors to the consumer auto review site, Toyota topped the list taking 17% of the votes with only a slim lead over Volkswagen (15%).
As a key forum for collecting the experiences from auto buyers, visitors of the site are quick to praise carmakers after they deliver on both their services and products.
However, it is not all good news; in spite of being one of the top three car manufacturers in terms of sales, Vauxhall came last in the poll with just 5% of the vote.
RoadTestReports.co.uk spokesperson, Faye Sunderland, said: "Despite media criticism of Toyota, our poll proves that the company handled its recall crisis effectively and efficiently and has emerged relatively unscathed in the minds of the public. The perception of the brand appears to have been well-maintained and proves just how essential good customer service is to the overall performance of the company. Poor service can be the ruin of an otherwise good line-up of car models; it's the final and essential component to ensuring that the feedback from buyers on websites such as our own is positive."
