Using a fine-tuned Honda Civic Type R 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine coupled to a Honda Type R six speed manual transmission has paved way to the creation of the unique K1 Attack Roadster.

Designed by Oliver Ashley, a senior technical manager from a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Bristol, the car has a 250-horsepower engine hidden under its hood along with several custom works both on the inside and outside.

"I have actually assembled the car four times since starting the project", said Ashley. "I had an original concept firmly in mind, and the design and specification evolved as I went along by building the car, checking the fit of every new component, dis-assembling, making modifications and so on, until I was happy with every element".

However, creating the car does not come cheap. The K1 Attack Roadster has been made with a host of one-off, specially produced equipment including carbon fibre bodywork and interior detailing, polished pipework and hoses, colour-coded cabling, chromed suspension, remote control linear actuators and mechanisms for opening the driver and passenger doors and a full bespoke Alcantara/leather cockpit, detailed with exquisite styling and design touches.

Inside, the car features state-of-the-art Clarion system with a hard drive navigation, speakers, a rear reversing camera system, amplifiers and DVD. Other major brands also assisted Ashley in the build, such as Yokohama, which now provides legendary high-performance tyres, and MOMO that adds Italian flair to the car's interior styling products.

With the K1 Attack Roadster wowing crowds at car shows across the country, Ashley is frequently asked what he will do now with the car. "I've actually been offered a lot of money to sell it but I plan to enjoy it for a year or so, and after that? Well, building a speedboat from scratch could be fun", he mused.
