Used Citroen fans may be pleased with new green engines

Citroen has announced the implementation of greener engines in its C5 range.
Fans of used Citroens may be interested to learn that they may be able to get their hands on greener engines when the C5 model upgrades hit the second-hand market.The manufacturer announced that it is to introduce two new engines to the range, which will help reduce the cars' carbon emissions.
In terms of petrol, the 2.0i 16V 143hp engine is to be replaced with a new version - the 1.6i 16V THP 155hp - that has been co-developed with BMW. I It produces 240 Nm of torque, as well as an 18.5 per cent increase in combined-cycle fuel economy.
Furthermore, it records a 16 per cent decrease in CO2.
When it comes to diesel, a new 2.0Hdi 16V 160 hp version is to be implemented, with 340 Nm of torque, three per cent fuel economy improvement and four per cent decrease in carbon.
Both engines are Euro V rated.
In addition, Exclusive models are to have an integrated Bluetooth system as standard.
Meanwhile, Top Gear's Tom Ford recently tested the Citroen C3 1.6Hdi and said it was an improved version of its predecessor.
