19 August 2009
Porsche is to release the 911 GTS RS in the UK next February.
Motorists looking for a used Porsche may find prices for the manufacturer's older 911 models start to come down when a new edition is released next year. The GTS RS is due out in the UK and across Ireland in February 2010 and the carmaker described it as the most sporting road variation of the vehicle ever produced.
It explained the key to the model's increased power lies in its new engine.
The unit in question is similar to the flat six-cylinder boxer fitted in the GT3 911.
However, the manufacturer explained the new engine has been tuned to provide an extra 15 hp.
Standard equipment on the model includes a vehicle tracking system, which could prove invaluable if the car is stolen.
Drivers contemplating buying the latest 911 will be looking at paying a minimum of £100,760.
In other news, Porsche is to unveil the new Turbo version of the model at next month's Frankfurt International Motor Show.
