11 September 2009
SsangYong has increased its UK sales for the fifth consecutive month, the manufacturer has revealed.
The number of used SsangYong models on the UK market may start to rise slowly, if new figures are anything to go by.Data released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed the group sold 52 passenger cars in Britain during August, compared to 20 in the same month during 2008.
This is the fifth consecutive occasion that registrations have risen.
Managing director Paul Williams said: "Our volumes are still low of course, but five months of better figures than last year is very encouraging."
During the first eight months of 2009, sales have increased by 7.31 per cent, against the same period in 2008.
Mr Williams expressed satisfaction at the firm's steady progress.
Vehicles sold by the South Korean company include the Kyron, Rexton and Rodius.
Meanwhile, the SsangYong C200, which was unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show, is due to arrive on the UK market sometime next year.
