Used Volkswagen Fox could be economical choice

Used Volkswagen Fox could be economical choice

06 July 2009

A review in the Times has described a second-hand Volkswagen Fox as a value for money choice.

People who prioritise fuel economy when buying used cars may want to check out a model from Volkswagen.

Writing in the Times, Jason Dawe said a second-hand Fox could be a good choice as it is economical, reliable and offers strong average residual values.

He advised motorists they should be able to get their hands on a 2006 version of the model for about £4,650.

The writer claimed owners could expect to get 45 mpg from edition of the car fitted with a 1.2-litre engine.

He also pointed out the unit sounds good and revs freely.

Motorists were advised they would be hard-pushed to find a second-hand Fox with extra equipment, as Volkswagen priced additional items – such as air conditioning – prohibitively high.

However, Mr Dawe said standard features were "good" anyway, as all versions of the auto come with antilock brakes, CD player, tinted glass, twin airbags and illuminated vanity mirrors.

Meanwhile, people interested in buying the model may find they can get a good deal on a used Volkswagen Fox online.
