A motor retailer has improved the green credentials of its customer service car and van fleet.
Drivers of used Volvos may be pleased to hear that one outlet has made its customer service car and van fleet more environmentally-friendly.The Volvo Dealer Crossroads Truck and Bus in Birstall near Leeds has renewed its fleet on the back of a report commissioned by the Energy Saving Trust.
According to the firm, the replacement of vehicles with motors from the DRIVe range and Ford's ECOnetic collection will see a CO2 reduction of 26 per cent.
Martin Cronin, Crossroads managing director, said the renewal of the autos represents an investment of £100,000.
He remarked on the fact that it will provide improved tracking of fuel consumption and contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's environmental transport policy.
"This significant investment is aimed at ensuring that Crossroads operate efficient, environmentally-friendly technology as part of our customer service operation," Mr Cronin commented.
In other green driving news that may interest used car drivers, the Fiat 500 Start&Stop was recently named City Car of the Year at the GreenFleet Awards.
