Volkswagen launches new app

A new iPhone application to keep people on track of the Dakar Rally has been launched.
Fans of Volkswagen and the Dakar Rally can combine the two with a new mobile application from the car manufacturer.In news that may interest those with used Volkswagens, the automobile firm has released an app to keep people informed about the latest news and information regarding the race.
Details about the Volkswagens being driven in the event will feature for the app, which is available to iPhone users.
It can be downloaded from the Apple online store.
Kris Nissen, motorsport director for Volkswagen, described the app as "unique".
"Volkswagen has always stood for innovation in motorsport," he stated.
The Dakar Rally takes place in South America and covers 9,000 kilometres through Chile and Argentina.
It will take place from January 1st to 17th.
Volkswagen's drivers include Carlos Sainz, Nasser Al Attiyah and Giniel De Villiers.
Both cars and bike participate in the event, in which other car makers such as Honda will be participating.
