Volkswagen UK has announced pricing for the all-new Touareg, as it opens the order book ahead of the first customer deliveries in October.
The new Touareg is priced from £38,225 for the entry-model SE 3.0-litre TDI 240PS, while the Hybrid version, which is scheduled to hit the market next month, costs £54,995.
The new Touareg is available in three models: the 3.0-litre V6 TDI, 4.2-litre TDI V8 and the Hybrid.
The 3.0-litre, which is considered to be the volume seller, can develop 240 horsepower and is capable of emitting CO2 of 195g/km while returning 38.2mpg, placing it in VED band J.
Meanwhile, the new 4.2-litre TDI V8 engine generates 340PS and 800Nm of torque. Despite its substantial torque and power outputs, the new engine is capable of attaining 31mpg on the combined cycle while emitting 239g/km of CO2.
Completing the lineup is the Hybrid model that can outshine many new hatches through the combination of an electric motor developing 47PS and a supercharged 3.0 litre V6 TSI petrol engine generating 333PS, resulting to a total output of 380PS and 580Nm of torque. It can sprint from naught to 62mph in just 6.54 seconds, yet the Hybrid is capable of emitting 193g/km of CO2 while returning 34.4mpg.
The 3.0-litre V6 TDI and Hybrid models boast economy enhancing features such as battery regeneration and a Start/Stop system, while all models are matted with a new eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.
The new Touareg is available in four ranges - Hybrid, Escape, Altitude and SE. Standard equipment for the entry-level SE model include six airbags, leather trim, burr walnut interior trim, touchscreen sat nav with DAB radio, 4MOTION four wheel drive and climate control.
