VW Eos furiously well-built
8 June 2009The Volkswagen Eos has been described as a "furiously well-built" car.
Writing in the Times, Giles Smith claimed the open-top model is powerful but relaxed and offers dynamism without being frightening at the same time.
He also noted the car has been designed for purpose.
Mr Smith explained: "It was built specifically to be a convertible - it's not just a pre-existing model with its roof sliced off."
The motoring journalist also pointed out if buyers choose carefully, they can drive away in a model with a Golf GTI engine.
With a maximum speed of 142 mph, the car can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds.
Meanwhile, in terms of its green credentials, the vehicle releases 188 g/km of CO2.
Prices for the model start at £28,310.
However, motorists who are not looking to spend quite that much may find they can secure a good deal on a used Volkswagen instead.
