Volkswagen AG has just announced European pricing details of the 2011 Volkswagen CrossGolf.
Debuting earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the CrossGolf is patterned from the sixth generation of the compact car Golf and is available with an engine range consisting of two diesel engines and one petrol engine (with three power levels).
CrossGolf's entry-level model is the one outfitted with the 105hp 1.4-litre petrol engine, which is priced starting from €24,425 / £20,855. There are also petrol units producing 122hp and 160hp. Meanwhile, the car's two diesel engine variants include a 2.0-litre TDI offering 140hp, and a 1.6-litre TDI that delivers 105hp. Of these engines, four can be mated to an automatic DSG (double clutch gearbox), with some powerplants receiving the wet clutch six-speed version, while others will get the dry clutch seven-speed version.
The car comes with a 20mm increase in ride height and 17-inch alloy rims and is equipped with a soft off-road body kit, which consists of roof rails, a front bumper underbody guard, a silver-finished crossbar and others.
The new CrossGolf also boasts an array of standard equipment including daytime running lights, manual air conditioning, bi-directional adjustable steering columns, height adjustable driver's seat, multi-function display, central locking with remote control and a glove box featuring a cooling and a locking function.
The 'semi-rugged' variant of the VW Golf offers luggage space varying between 540 litres and 395 litres, depending on the seating arrangement preferred by the driver.
