Volkswagen UK is gearing up to introduce a new model in the Tiguan range - the Match.
Though a name commonly applied to the Touran, Polo, and Golf line-ups, it is the first time the name Match has been used on the Tiguan. The new Match model replaces the SE trim level and promises to offer greater equipment and value to the all-inclusive list of convenience and comfort features already available in the Tiguan range.
The brand-new Tiguan Match boasts additional features including Park Assist, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, a touch screen DAB digital radio, a leather multifunction steering wheel, and climate control.
These features supplement the existing standard equipment such as 17-inch alloy wheels, heat insulating glass from the B-pillar back, a six-disc CD auto-changer, six airbags, anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and electronic stabilisation programme (ESP).
In spite of these gains, the new Tiguan Match is only priced £250 higher over the existing SE model.
The car is available in two diesel and two petrol engines. The diesel powerplants are based on a 2.0-litre TDI engine with 170PS or 140PS outputs, while the petrol variants are a 2.0-litre TSI engine delivering 170 PS and a 1.4-litre TSI unit offering 150PS. Both the 140PS diesel and170PS petrol engines can now be configured with a newly launched option of a seven speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The Tiguan Match is now on sale, priced starting from £22,110 OTR RRP for the entry-level model with 1.4-litre TSI BlueMotion Technology and two-wheel drive.
