Formula E is getting faster
At the moment, Formula E cars can get from 0 - 62 mph in 3 seconds flat and onto a maximum top speed of 137 mph. This is way, way slower than Formula 1, however the advancements that are being made in battery technology mean that batteries are getting smaller and lighter as well as more powerful. In the next five years, it is not far-fetched to predict that Formula E cars will have a top speed in excess of 170 mph with a low-end pull that would catch a Formula 1 car off guard. In theory, a Formula E car can go as fast as you like - it all depends on how powerful the battery is.
