Seat Leon 2.0 184 FR
If you like to mix pace with efficiency, the Seat Leon 2.0 184 FR is the ideal machine. This car has the same 2.0-litre TDI engine you will find in the new Volkswagen Golf GTD but it costs much less. Headline figures include a 109 g/km CO2 rating (with a six-speed manual), 67.3 miles per gallon, 280 lb /ft of torque, and 0 - 62 mph in 7.4 seconds. You can get the Leon with a 150 2.0 TDI, but the 184 is worth the extra for the bigger brakes.
Tax payable at 20% for this car is £755 and at 40% £1,510.
The best thing about the Seat Leon is the standard equipment you get in FR spec. You get LED headlights, climate control, parking sensors, touch screen entertainment, power folding mirrors, and in FR models with more than 180 bhp, you get a multi-link rear suspension set up. This gifts the Leon with a huge level of agility in the corners and combined with the potent 2.0-litre 184 diesel engine, the Leon can be a lot of fun.
I recommend optioning the 18-inch performance alloys if you go for this car. The 17-inch standard alloys are boring and the cheaper 18's are not very pretty.
