Audi Sport Quattro
The new Audi Quattro is one of the most hyped cars of the last ten years. Lots of rumours and lots of potential specifications have been thrown around, but as we get nearer to the car being released, some lucky car magazines have driven test versions. Once such drive was by Car Magazine, who took the Audi Sport Quattro out and tested it alongside the original - not to compare them as such, but to get a sense of just how much of the original cars charm this new model keeps.
It uses a turbocharged petrol engine that develops an ambitious 690 bhp and 590 lb/ft of torque and of course, it has Quattro all-wheel-drive. Because it makes use of Kevlar throughout the body it also weighs just 1,300 kg and add all this together and you get a seriously nippy sports car. As Car Magazine describes "Even though I only scratch the surface of this impressive petrol-hybrid power pack, the claimed combined output of 690bhp and 590lb ft from the twin-turbo V8 and electric motor mated to the gearbox feels perfectly credible."
The Sport Quattro is still only a concept but Audi is dead-serious about releasing it. Exciting times ahead.
