The Audi S3 is a mighty fine (and highly tuneable) car, that's not as expensive to own and run as you might think. The Audi RS3 however is in a different league. It's only available as a Sportback (i.e. 5 doors) and it sits several insurance groups higher than the S3, several tax bands higher, has a way lower fuel consumption, and is way more expensive. As the name suggests though, the RS3 is about one thing; offering driving thrills. Powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine, the RS3 has 340 bhp and 332 lb /ft of torque, fed to all 4 wheels through a Quattro all wheel drive system, which makes it one of the most powerful hatches money can buy. In fact, the only thing that gets close to it is the BMW M135i and the all-new A45 AMG. The RS3 is a good car to live with as well; 31 mpg is achievable on a combined run and it even has a generous 302-litre boot capacity. Nice!
